  • Saw Hawk
  • Installed "Mega Spikes" on roof ridge to keep Vultures from perching on Rain water collecting roof for household use. A product from Bird-B-Gone.

  • Saw 3 Possums and a Ringtail Cat at the seed bowl feeders on the porch at night.
  • Marked China Berry trees to remove at river bottom land
  • Consulted about muddy pond
  • Saw Osprey
  • Removed 8 large China Berry Trees and treated with stump remover
  • Rescued Golden-cheeked Warbler from seed feeder.

Canyon Wren at the meal worm bowl. The bowl was covered with a thin layer of dog food crumbs to keep the bees away. It is the only thing found that will discourage the bees, but not the birds. Little songbirds to not mess with bees. This photo was taken from inside the house through a bird-screened window.

January 23 2015

  • Removed dead Squirrell from first flush of Rainwater tank for house. Repaired gutter intakes with secure screens and screwed down. Added water faucet carbon filter to kitchen sink for drinking.

  • End of Deer hunting season, hunters shot a total of seven Deer, all females
  • Spread mulch from PEC Electric company tree trimmers onto pasture road
  • Bees foraging in Bird Seed mixes "Nut-n-Berry", and in meal with worms for wren, the birds were discouraged from using feeding areas with bees.

Two Savannah Sparrows in the top of a thorny bush at upper pasture. A Vesper Sparrow is on the lower branch.
