Continued feeding hummingbirds. (Feeders need refreshing every 4 days in hot weather, it is especially needed when the color of the sugar mixture appears cloudy instead of clear.)

  • Removed Johnson grass throughout yard area

  • Cleared trail to river which was overgrown due to increased rains
  • Removed ragweed from river bottom

  • Hung homemade birdhouse in tree behind house
  • Erected road barriers to driveway to protect butterfly area near barn
  • Used horticultural vinegar on poison ivy at steps to the river
  • Removed beggars lice around house

1 1/4 inch rain! Very lush!

Trapped by high flood waters after 3 inch rain in watershed

  • Broadcast 1 pound Buffalo grass seed along edge of lower road
  • Treated a few fire ant mounds between rains
  • Continued feeding hummingbirds 17 feeders around three porches
  • Many caterpillars and butterflies
