  • Ox Beetle (Strategus aloeus)

Caretakers found this Ox Beetle attracted to the porch light. It measured about 45mm in length before being turned loose under a dogwood tree behing the house.

  • Worker saw three yound Turkeys-there is only a 40 percent success rate for young Turkey survival, so it is good to see three.

  • Saw Chuck-wills Widow in upper woods
  • Saw Deer
  • Saw male, female and young Turkey

Lindheimer Muhly (Muhlenbergia lindheimeri) also called Big Muhly near the headwaters of the draw on the upland outcrop. Its root syetm is good for soil stabilization. This species is endemic to the Edwards Plateau.
