- Refreshed Hummingbird feeders
- Mowed KR Bluestem in small area below old corral
- Covered mowed area with black plastic covering about 375 square feet. (a few days later, the KR was still very green, the black plastic acting more like a greenhouse than a weed killer, the "solarization" weed killing technique works best in the summer months)
Carertakers experiment with different ways of removing KR Bluestem grass. Mowing does not work to remove it in the fall, but it does allow for over seeding and using Horticultural Vinegar too slow it down, especially before a freeze. Contacts with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will assist with other methods of removal when the temperature is condusive to special treatments.
